May Half-Term 2016

This half term has seen several new pupils join the boarding community from Germany, Romania, Thailand, USA and Spain.

The boarding activities have been more local this half-term, with a shopping trip and boat ride in York, a visit to Peasholm Park and the beach, watching Yorkshire v Lancashire rugby match and the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race, a cinema trip and of course our annual leavers BBQ.

Peasholm Park

This visit to Peasholm Park and the beach helped encourage our boarders to tick off some of this year’s ‘40 challenge’ for boarders, which has been an ongoing task. The overall winner was Riley Tomlinson, with runners up as Hope Tomlinson and Erfan Ghafouri.  A special prize went to Carlos for completing 15 in only a few weeks.

In-house activities have been very varied, including Table Tennis, cricket, football, golf, creating a map indicating where everyone is from and soup making to promote healthy eating.  There have also been many birthdays over the last few months which is always an excuse for some lovely cake!

To end off another great term in the life of Scarborough College boarding community was the 6th Form Leavers Masked Ball, where all our pupils looked amazing.
